Details

Teviothead nestles in historic Reivers' country. Follow the route to Hawick, where an impressive equestrian statue commemorates the victory of local youths over English invaders at nearby Hornshole in 1514. Ten miles north of the Border lies the historical Royal Burgh of Jedburgh, visited by Mary Queen of Scots in 1566. Take the scenic route through the breaktaking twin valleys of Ettrick and Yarrow into the Ancient and Royal Burgh of Selkirk. Glorious scenery abounds around the beautiful St Mary's Loch, Southern Scotland's largest stretch of water. Wind your way onto the oldest established route between England and Edinburgh, the A68, a route passed over by many an army through the centuries. Lauder is the last town on this trail, preserving its medieval form with a single main street widening into the Market Place, dominated by the old Tolbooth.
