Blairgowrie Trail

Glens, Ghosts and fascinating Industrial Heritage.

From Blairgowrie drive North East to Alyth at the head of Glen Isla, one of the Angus Glens famed for their beauty and solitude. Southwards via Meigle (Museum of Pictish Sculptured Stones) then on to Glamis Castle, the most haunted in Scotland and the childhood home of the Queen Mother. This is an ideal coffee or lunch stop before driving south to Dundee. The City on the Tay Estuary has preserved part of its maritime tradition at Discovery Point and its industrial heritage at Verdant Works. Return via Coupar Angus to Blairgowrie for a visit to kilt manufacturer Piob Mhor.
